Abstract

Digital platforms in life sciences also aid scientific procurement as well as healthcare compliance, and are the main way that researchers, pharmaceutical organizations, and universities acquire reagents, lab supplies, and instruments. It is also important to have timely delivery because sluggish delivery may derail multi-million-dollar clinical trials. At the same time, healthcare systems archive safety data sheets and batch records as well as regulatory documents needed to comply with the FDA, HIPAA, and GDPR, and any errors or audit failures may lead to regulatory fines, negative publicity, and access market blockage. Before transformation, these platforms experienced data bottlenecks, sluggish release cycle, fragmented audit evidence and performance breakdown during peak demand periods. Addressing these challenges, the CI/CD pipeline was redefined with the services of GitLab and Jenkins, combined with SonarQube to check the code quality, Artifactory to manage the artifacts and Ansible and Terraform to perform the deployment automatization. Every release automatically produced a signed manifest of build hashes, source branches, stakeholder approvals, complete test logs and security and compliance scans. The manifest format was also formatted according to the auditor requirements to simplify the review of the regulations. The outcomes were dramatic: the numbers of release cycles were cut down to 5 days, data accuracy grew 4-fold, auditing preparation cost went down by 85 percent, system throughput was 4 times higher in times of rush, uptime was 99.9 percent, order errors were cut by ten times, and user satisfaction increased significantly. Monetarily, these gains generated significant incremental revenues and increase in the number of users proving that automated CI/CD pipelines can raise the performance of the operations, adherence to regulations, and consumer confidence.
